Travis Kelce Subtly Shades Joe Alwyn After Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Appearance

All good laughs! Travis Kelce is reveling in his relationship with Taylor Swift and trying to avoid mentioning her exes. The Kansas Chiefs tight-end went on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast to talk about how much he loves Taylor and about that one viral lyric change that made a difference in every Swiftie’s life.

In many instances during the Eras tour, Taylor Swift changed the lyrics to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs.” Host and NFL player Will Colton asked if the line used to be “Karma is the guy on the screen.” Travis replied, “It was.” The former lyric was about Joe Alwyn since the song was written while the “Lover” singer was still in a relationship with him from 2016 to 2023.

Travis also steered clear of mentioning another one of Taylor’s exes: Jake Gyllenhaal. “‘Karma’ is Gyllenhaal, right?” Will asked. “Was it Jake? Am I wrong?” Kelce avoided the question and asked another one, “What happened?” In the same podcast, Travis gushed about his relationship, “You wanna keep things private but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything, that’s my girl, that’s my lady and I’m proud of that.”

Swifties had a laugh online and praised Travis’ response to the exes questions. “The way he handled that nonsense was great tbh,” one fan posted on X. Another posted, “Listen, if Travis wasn’t made for this…🤣🤣🤣 This life ain’t real. He handled the whole bit like a champ. 😜”

Taylor debuted the new line change during her Eras Tour show in Buenos Aires, Argentina in November 2023. Travis was in attendance and stood by her father in the VIP tent. When she sang the line, the crowd went wild and the two men were giggling and celebrating. A TikTok clip shared by a fan shows Swift looking toward Kelce during the show’s finale. He then blew her a kiss and waved at her before she exited the stage.

Months later, Travis surprised Swifties during her sold-out show in Wembley Stadium when he appeared as a dapper man in a tuxedo and top hat. He appeared in a transitional sketch that leads into the song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” where he put powder and urged the “Love Story” singer to make a costume change.
