As their relationship continues to be the subject of much speculation, sources have revealed how Jennifer Lopez really feels about her husband Ben Affleck confiding in his ex, Jennifer Garner. Garner and Affleck were married from June 2005 to October 2018, and share three children—daughter Violet, and sons Fin and Samuel.

“Everyone knows that Ben and Jen remained very close after their divorce. He confides in Jen about everything, even his issues with J. Lo,” a source told InTouchWeekly in an article published on May 30, 2024. “J. Lo hates that Ben goes back to his sensible, down-to-earth ex-wife for advice and emotional support. She doesn’t want Jen’s input.”
They continued to shed light on the dynamic between the three. “J. Lo didn’t come right out and tell Jen to back off—both women have been down this road before and know their boundaries—but she did tell Ben that his ex needs to stay away from him and butt out of their personal drama,” the insider shared. “Ben then relayed the message to Jen.”
However, Garner and J-Lo have reportedly been supporting each other throughout this difficult time. In an article previously published by Daily Mail, a source said J-Lo was confiding in Garner because of their shared experiences with the same man, although circumstances are a little different. “JLo has been confiding in Jen because she knows that she is one of the only people in the world who would understand what she is going through,” the insider said.
“She has been through it with the same man herself and although the circumstances were quite different it is still the same man and they both dealt with some of the same issues. … Jen does not want Ben to pull the plug on this marriage because she really does care about JLo,” the source continued.
“JLo was told several times by Jen how valued she is in all their lives. She is one of the only women who can get through to Ben and keep him from jumping off the deep end with his addiction,” the insider concluded. “The biggest fear right now is that he will start drinking again and part of the reason Jen has been keeping tabs on him is to make sure this doesn’t happen.”
