After weeks of rumors, Kendall and Nicole confirmed during the Love Island USA Season 6 reunion that they were on the rocks due to a lie Kendall told Nicole about a nude video of his that leaked right before the Love Island USA Season 6 finale aired.
What did Kendall lie to Nicole about from Love Island USA?
During the Love Island USA Season 6 reunion, Nicole accused Kendall of lying about the truth behind his nude video, which leaked the day of the Love Island USA Season 6 finale in July 2024. Per Nicole, Kendall told her that the nude video was an old recording he sent years ago to an ex-girlfriend. However, she later discovered from cast mate JaNa Craig that Kendall actually sent the nude video to someone on a dating app in a hotel in Fiji right before he went on Love Island USA Season 6.
“So I want to say something. Obviously, the video is not OK. Nobody deserves that. Everybody in this room can agree. That is fucked up. However, I think if you say you love somebody, in the moment, when you’re telling me about something, you have to be honest,” Nicole said during the reunion. “Instead of saying it’s from years ago to someone you trusted, an ex-girlfriend, and then I found out later from JaNa that it was in the hotel room before you go on show to someone on a dating app is crazy.”
Nicole continued to Kendall, “I was there for you. That’s why I haven’t said anything because it’s fucking awful what you’ve been through. But you also weren’t honest with me about it.”
After Kendall’s nude video leaked on the day of the Love Island USA Season 6 finale, Kendall released a statement in which he also claimed that the nude video was sent to someone he trusted. “What a way to get my phone back y’all,” he wrote in an Instagram Story at the time. “I just want to address the content that came out from my past. That was something I shared to someone in confidence and trust. It’s unfortunate that it’s no longer private but it is what it is.”

During the Love Island USA Season 6 reunion, Kendall confirmed he lies to Nicole—and in his Instagram Story—because he wasn’t ready to tell her the truth after coming out of the villa and being overwhelmed with returning to the real world and the news that his nude video had leaked and gone viral on the internet. “I haven’t had time to process. I couldn’t even talk to my family about it. I didn’t know what to tell you,” Kendall said, to which Nicole responded, “You tell me the truth. You don’t make up a story.”

Despite their drama over Kendall’s lie, Nicole confirmed at the Love Island USA Season 6 reunion that they were still together, for now, and hadn’t broken up yet. At the time of writing, Kendall and Nicole also still follow each other on Instagram. Since the reunion aired, however, viewers have overwhelmingly been on Kendall’s side over Nicole.
