Jennifer Garner is setting her boundaries with her ex. Amid Ben Affleck‘s impending rumored divorce with Jennifer Lopez, the 13 Going On 30 actress is trying to give her ex-husband some much needed advice. But, it’s coming with a price.
A source dished to Daily Mail that Jen Garner had enough. “Jen eventually got to a place where she was like, ‘Sorry, figure this out yourself,’” an insider told the gossip site. “It was beginning to become too painful for her because it was bringing back so many memories of their divorce. Throughout their marriage, there were times when Jen felt like she was second to JLo even though there was no communication between her and Ben for years.”
They continued, “She was surprised at how public he became when they reunited because he was always a man who wanted to be out of the spotlight when they were married. Jen opened up her home and her life to JLo because she had moved on from the past. She cares about JLo and cares about their kids and how it will affect all of them.” Garner and Affleck married in 2005 and finalized their divorce in 2018. They share three children—Violet, 18, Seraphina (who might be going by Fin now), 15, and Samuel, 12. Ben also co-parents J-Lo’s children— Max and Emme, 15.

“But in the end, it is not Jen’s circus, not Jen’s monkeys and she is done playing marriage counselor to her ex-husband and his wife,” the source concluded. A source previously shared that the split has taken a toll on Jen Garner. “Jennifer Garner felt blindsided by Ben’s relationship with JLo,” a close source recently revealed to Fox News Digital. “She doesn’t like her kids in the public eye so much, and that’s been hard for her.”
Ben and J-Lo’s love story dates back to 2001 when they met on the set of Gigli. They first got engaged in 2002 but called it off before the wedding in 2003. Fast forward to 2022, they rekindled their romance and got married in July of the same year. Reflecting on their journey, Lopez shared in her newsletter, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”
